Afghan Daizangi RugThe Daizangai are a Hazara tribe from western Afghanistan, living in the Badghis and Herat provinces. These rugs are woven entirely by women, on their own looms in their own homes, using a construction technique that sets them apart from almost anything else in Afghan weaving. Like the Barjasta tradition, Daizangai rugs combine two weaving methods in a single piece, a weft wrapped flatweave base with knotted pile worked on top of selected design
